1. Agreement
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Mushaf ·
القرآن الكريم mobile application and the website at
mushaf.ramialkaro.fi (together, "the Service"), both
operated by Rami Al-Karo ("we", "us") based in Helsinki, Finland.
By downloading, installing, or using Mushaf, you agree to these
Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
Short version: Use the app for personal reading, listening, and reflection. Don't abuse it. It's free. We provide it as-is.
2. Your Use of Mushaf
You may use Mushaf for personal, non-commercial purposes. In particular, you agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the app
- Scrape, rip, redistribute, or re-host the Quran audio streams or other content in bulk
- Attempt to access other users' accounts or data
- Attempt to disrupt the Service or its underlying infrastructure (DoS, abuse of API limits, etc.)
- Use the Service in any way that violates applicable law
3. Accounts
Sign-in is optional. Most features work without an account. If you
choose to sign in with Apple or Google:
- You're responsible for keeping your Apple/Google credentials secure
- You're responsible for activity that happens under your account
- You must provide accurate information where the app asks for it (email, timezone, etc.)
- You may delete your account at any time — see the Privacy Policy, §9
4. Quran Content, Recitations, and Adhkar
The Arabic text of the Quran is of course not subject to any
copyright — it is the word of Allah, preserved for over 1,400
years.
Qari recitation audio is streamed from third-party content delivery
networks. We reference public recitations of renowned reciters in
good faith. If you are a rights holder and believe content should
be removed, please contact us.
Translations, adhkar sources, and interface text are either in the
public domain, used with permission, or written by us. We source
adhkar from classical compilations (e.g. Hisn al-Muslim). If you
identify an error in a source citation, please let us know — we
want the references to be accurate.
5. Price
Mushaf is currently free to use. There is no subscription, no
in-app purchase, no paywall, and no ads.
If we introduce any paid feature in the future, it will be clearly
disclosed before you are charged, and existing free features will
remain free. We will never paywall core features like reading the
Quran, listening to recitations, or adhkar.
6. Intellectual Property
The Mushaf app design, website design, logo, written copy, and
code we've written are owned by Rami Al-Karo. You may not copy,
modify, or distribute them without permission.
The Amiri Quran font is used under the SIL Open Font License.
Open-source libraries used in the app retain their own licenses.
7. Third-Party Services
Mushaf uses third-party services (Firebase, RevenueCat, Apple and
Google sign-in, audio CDNs, the quran.com API) to provide
features. Your use of those features is also subject to the terms
and privacy policies of those providers. We are not responsible
for the availability or content of third-party services.
8. Termination
You can stop using Mushaf at any time by uninstalling the app.
If you have signed in, you can additionally request deletion of
your account (see Privacy Policy, §9).
We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms
or if required by law.
9. Disclaimers
Mushaf is provided "as is" and
"as available". We make no warranty that the
Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any
particular purpose.
Prayer times are computed from your location using the public
adhan calculation algorithm. They should be accurate for
day-to-day use, but you are responsible for verifying prayer
times against your local masjid or authoritative source, especially
when precision matters (Ramadan, travel, high latitudes).
Translations of the Quran are just that — translations. The
meanings of the Quran are fully preserved only in the Arabic.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any
indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising
from your use of Mushaf — including any losses from missed
prayers, missed reminders, incorrect prayer times, or reliance on
content in the app.
Our total liability, if any, is limited to the amount you paid us
for Mushaf, which is currently zero.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as the app evolves or law changes. When
we do, we update the "Last Updated" date and, if the change is
material, notify you in the app or by email.
Continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the
revised Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Finland. Any disputes
arising from these Terms or your use of Mushaf will be resolved in
the competent courts of Helsinki, Finland, unless applicable
consumer-protection law in your country requires otherwise.
